a simple fern

Been busy this week. Burying myself in work. It’s been good and I’ve gotten a lot done. The weather had been absolutely perfect and so I’ve tried to spend some time outside as well. Working in the garden, laying in the grass. We went for another day hike yesterday up in the Mount Baker region. I had never been hiking in that area. The mountain peaks were just gorgeous, and the trail was teeming with life. Green upon green upon green.

This week I designed a few more books for my Natural Elements Section This is one of them. I still have leftover pressed fern fronds that I bought to make my wedding invitations last year. So I decided to use them. I just realized just now that the color scheme for this design were my wedding colors. It must have been a subconcious decision!

Pressed fern, 5 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches, coptic bound

This journal isn’t up on the site yet, but hopefully I’ll be able to get it up there this weekend.

Have several other books that I designed, but they are still waiting to be bound. I have been chewing on some paintings in my head as well. We’ll see what happens. Hopefully I will get to paint a bit this weekend.
