I am really excited to share here that the show I have been co-curating with Jacqueline Yvonne Tull has been open since last week at XoXo Gallery in Baltimore. The opening reception is this Thursday, January 22nd, 2026, 6-9 pm. If you are local, come by!
In 2024 I joined up with 11 other artists in Baltimore from the Goxxip Girl Collective to form a curatorial collective gallery on the 3rd floor of the Maryland Art Place building in the Bromo Arts District. Each of us takes a turn to curate a show in our space and since 2025 was busy for me with shows, I knew I had to wait until the year was over for my turn. However, curating a show can take months to plan and contact artists and figure out all the logistics. So Jacqui and I have been meeting up since sometime in the summer.
I remember our first meeting where it seemed like we talked for hours discussing what ideas and themes interest us in our work and in life in general. It was actually pretty exciting to find out that we were both very interested in eco-feminist art and the connections between the divine feminine, nature, and women’s role in society.

It’s been such an interesting journey to go from the idea to stage to the actualized exhibition in a physical space. So excited to share the work of each artist in the show- Claudia Capelle, Meiyan Dong, Patricia Edwine Poku, Devra Fox, Julia Gould, Linda Plaisted, and V Walton. If you are interested in learning about each artist, the gallery will be sharing an artist feature each week of the exhibit on our Instagram page.
Exhibition Statement: XoXo Gallery presents “Sacred Matter: Reclaiming the Garden”, a collection of ecofeminist and spiritual works that serve in resistance to the patriarchal systems that have glorified dominance over Earth and women. Through use of the body, botanicals, water, and mysticism, the works of Claudia Capelle, Meiyan Dong, Patricia Edwine Poku, Devra Fox, Julia Gould, Linda Plaisted, and V Walton shed light on the ever-present divine feminine, and the long-held history of women’s connection to nature, life cycles, care, and horizontal power structures. “Sacred Matter: Reclaiming the Garden” explores how returning the feminine to the sacred restores the divinity in our bodies, in the land, and in the water, and can lead to a pathway towards social and ecological justice.
Curated by Jacqueline Yvonne Tull and Bridgette Guerzon Mills

Now that I’ve been on the other side of art shows, I really appreciate all the work that goes into curating a show and installing a show. I am used to either shipping work to a gallery or delivering and then showing up a week later for the reception. Being on this end though is a lot of work and one really needs to be detail oriented. I made countless lists to keep me on track! Both sides of a show require lots of work and time, just different. I was lucky to pair up with Jacqui as she was part of a curatorial gallery up in Philadelphia and curated several shows up there through the years and she showed me the ropes.
I have always loved sharing the work of other artists. Following a thread and bringing different artists together is really interesting and satisfies an itch that I didn’t even know I had.
