This painting was completed shortly after the last painting I posted about. I am finally digging into my images and photos that were damaged by the flood. The tree used to be a full color print. Once it sat in several feet of water for a few days, the ink all leached out, leaving the faded tree with the magenta stain above. I have been wanting to use this image for a while, but I wasn’t ready. I am now. This is part of my “flooded” series, or something like that. I am sure the proper name for it will come to me as I work through it.

  1. The painting is gorgeous, and the quote is so appropriate. Isn’t it interesting what serendipity can come out of the ashes (or in this case receding floodwaters).

    1. It’s true. We need it to look for the best in all situations, that’s for sure. Luckily as artists we can create from all sources, happy, sad, painful, promising. Thankful for that!
