I’ve been off the computer for so long it seems. But it’s really only been a week or so. And I haven’t been crazy busy. Just feeling a bit detached. And tired. And spending time outside in the garden. But I thought I’d update with an oil painting I did a few weeks ago.
It’s been drying all this while as I’ve been wandering off in my own world. I’ve been extremely introspective this past week. More so than usual, which is saying a lot. A lot is going on internally. Positive things. Looking inside myself. Looking ahead.
wind, oil and mixed media, 4×4 inches
I’ve used this image before in earlier mixed media pieces. It’s of the tall grasses that sway back and forth on the beaches. I feel a calmness with this image. And I like how it seems almost abstract. I wonder if it even looks like grass!? Interesting, capturing wind. Wind is only embodied by movement of other. Kind of like breath.
If breathing is a form of meditation, then can the words we speak be a form of meditativeness?
I want the wind to fill me
Lift me
Embrace me
Carry me
Home
Hey Bridgette!
I wish you lived closer, I would help you out with quilting. It’s not hard, and I know you’ll do great with it when you’re ready to give it a go. I had no idea you crocheted..I definitely would’ve asked for pointers at Artfest.
My crochet flower scarf is working great; Dawn showed me yesterday how to join the flowers and I did three last night..woo hoo! I’m going to post a pic of what I’ve done so far.
Are you thinking of attending Artfest 2007? I just saw a notice from Teesha about it, that the new classes will be posted in July. I hope you do; it would be great to pal around with you! xoxo Kathy
hey kathy,
Well, when i start my quilt I will have to email you whenever I get into trouble!
I don’t think I’m going to make it to artfest this next year….but not sure yet. I’ll let you know. In either case, I live in seattle so we could meet up for coffee or tea before you guys head up to port townsend.
