For the past two years I have been working on a collaborative visual journal with mixed media artist, Donia Nance (who really needs to get a web site!! ahem). Actually two visual journals. One that is hers to keep, and one that I get to keep. We both made the covers and I bound them up with 90# paper. Both of the journals had different themes, but in the end the themes became intertwined. This detail is from my last spread in her journal.
I was sad having this project end as it really became a very personal journey for both of us. It was such an amazing experience. I have one more spread to do in my journal and then it will be done. I almost don’t want to do it…because then it will be truly finished.
But all things must come to an end. And it actually ended at a good time as I don’t have as much time now to do things like this anymore. It is really neat to see how we both grew in the past two years. In our art and in our personal lives too. I think we both actually made some breakthroughs in our visual journals. Two years! Wow. I’m still amazed that we stuck with it. But it was so worth it.
