This one is a little different from my usual; but it’s always good to change things a bit. On second thought, it’s not that different. Just the colors.
I took this picture this past summer of a pink poppy in my front garden. It had started to lose its petals. When I started working on this panel I wanted to create something that spoke to the idea of everything having its season- but without being too cliched.
When I was trying to think of a non-cliche way of saying what I wanted to say, I came upon the phrases in my little red affirmations book: “completeness contains incompleteness. Wholeness contains unwholeness” So I tore the page out, cut the phrases and it was done
Nothing in life is perfect or absolute. Imperfection is what makes us human. Imperfection can be beautiful.

Completeness, mixed media, 5×7 inches
