Fly Away….

Bridgette Guerzon Mills, Flight series, encaustic mixed media

When I was able to start getting back into my studio at the beginning of 2021, found myself wanting to use my images of birds in flight, rather than my usual of birds sitting in branches. 2020 was so much about staying in place and being constrained. Working on these pieces really helped me get through the late winter/ early spring months.

I just shipped these four pieces out to Wisconsin for the 2021 season at Cappaert Contemporary Gallery. This is my third season with them and I’m so happy to be part of the gallery again this year.

There are things you can’t reach. But You can reach out to them, and all day long. The wind, the bird flying away. The idea of god. And it can keep you busy as anything else, and happier. I look; morning to night I am never done with looking. Looking I mean not just standing around, but standing around As though with your arms open.
