Illustration Friday – Empty

  • August 10, 2005

Dialogue, oil, 20 x 16 inches

Empty. Absent. Oftentimes conversations can be empty, especially when two differing points of views come together. This is what I see as the political discourse in this country. It doesn’t matter what the truth is, people don’t want to hear it.

  1. A poignant piece. Truthfully, I would never have pegged this painting as a confrontational political statement, but maybe I’m seeing things too narrowly. Nevertheless, I love the mood of this picture, and the icy colors that offer a clarity beyond words. Simply beautiful.

  2. The political discourse in my country is it doesn’t matter what the truth is, the Government doesn’t want to hear it.

    VERY nice oil painting 🙂
