I was giving myself a pep talk when I was naming this one. It is easy to get overwhelmed in this time of uncertainty, especially if you are an over-thinker, over-feeler. I have found that if I focus on tasks at hand, it helps. One step at time, one day at a time is the cliched phrase that comes to mind. Things are cliches because there is some truth to the words.
I remember the moment when I took the photo that inspired this piece. I couldn’t believe my luck in capturing the moment when the crow spread its wings and lifted up off a tree branch. I was out walking my dog on a foggy morning and we came upon an area that crows liked to congregate by. Of course I stopped to admire them and my dog obliged patiently while I took some photos. I think the role of the artist is often to always be taking in the world with all ones senses and with appreciation for what the world presents to us.
Always be ready. And just keep going.
