The first time I made these brownies was years ago for my kids for Halloween. The recipe was in a Martha Stewart Everday Food magazine (loved that publication!) which sadly doesn’t exist anymore. They were called Scaredy Cat Brownies. They were so cute! I couldn’t find a link to the original recipe, but this blog has it and has images of the cute Halloween themed brownies.
A while ago I stopped doing the cat part of the brownies because a) I would make them at other times other than Halloween because we love them so much 2) kids got older and they stopped caring about such things 3) it honestly was peppermint overload in my opinion. The original recipe calls for 32 patties. I just put 16 and that is plenty enough.
This is seriously such a rich and delicious mint brownie recipe. So good. Yum.
My illustration is probably the worst one I have ever done, but I decided to get over it and just post anyway because the recipe needs to be shared.
