Another painting born from mixing lots of greens for some landscape paintings.
To be honest, a few times in my life been that person who thinks that things are often greener on the other side. So when I decided this painting was done, I took a long look at it on my studio wall and the title easily came to me.
Sometimes it seems like there are messages that come to me that I need to hear. This one is saying- hey, stop looking outward or over the fence, look inward. Since I’m speaking in cliches already, this other one comes to mind: the grass is greener where you water it. With maybe a little bit of blue. Although this inner green seems kind of the opposite of “I’m going to frolic in the clover green”, but more of a pulsing, moody green. Something archaic. hmmm.
This past week I turned my wax back on and I reworked two paintings and I turned again to keeping it abstract. It’s been a few weird weeks of creating. Going back to landscapes, and then kind of at the same time, heading into abstraction. But then today I added a swan to a painting.
Figuring things out. Wandering. Shifting.
