My art practice is so much about how I walk through this world. At times I explore deeper issues. And other times it really is I saw this scene and something about it made me pause. And then the challenge or the curiosity to see if I can recreate it. But recreate in a way that it’s more about a feeling than a reproduction of what I saw.
That’s what a lot of my landscape paintings are pretty much about. They are a journal of what I see and what moves me. For this particular scene it was the shadow of the very tall tree. I saw the shadow and I wanted to paint it. Or see if I could paint it.
Honestly every painting, every creation is a challenge. Can I capture what I felt? Can I express the joy in the land? Can I bring that alive? It’s a constant work in progress and a challenge I enjoy. Even when it’s hard.
I listed this painting in my online shop. Shipping is included in the price.
