today

On our walk to the village to run errands I heard a seagull crying out very loudly and urgently. I looked up and saw that a crow was chasing the seagull. I never saw such a thing before, but I kept walking and pushing Noah in his stroller. We turned the corner and kept walking. Three blocks down the two birds swooped down so close above my head and the seagull’s squawk seemed like it was screamed in my ear.

There was an urgency to this chase. It was beautiful though. To watch their flight. I wonder what was going on. I know that crows are very protective of their young. As a mother now, I can understand.

Noah turned 4 months old today. I can’t even believe it. I feel like he isn’t the only one who has grown so much these past four months. I am still me. But it’s like I have expanded. (Working on slimming down the physical expansion-almost there!) I mean, my heart has grown, my being.

  1. What a lovely post, I can just se it happening around you and your lovely son. My friend used to say to me that you learned more about being a grown up from your children than you did your parents, I think that is part of that expansion. Thanks for sharing! Leau in New Mexico

  2. Hi Leau! thanks for stopping by here. I hope you are doing well. I think that what your friend said rings true. And maybe even that your children teach you how to be a child again. rediscovery. And playfulness.
