100 days of birds

  • May 08, 2017

Seriously, painting a bird a day really has been keeping the blues away. I mentioned in my last post that working on these little gouache paintings of birds has been very grounding for me. So far I have done 31 birds! If I make it to 100, it’ll be a miracle. But whatever happens I am enjoying the process. Here are a few birds and some are available for sale. I was going to create a specific page on my site just for the birds, but I am having a hard time finding time for that. So the blog will have to do for now.

I matted and framed these four birds to hang in the gallery this past weekend at the Ladew Garden Festival. I especially love the thin white frames with the white mats. Finished my little birds nicely. Happy to report that two of the birds, the Wren and the White Dove, have flown away to new homes over the weekend from this show. Two others have already sold. And I have three on reserve!

If you are interested in any of my birds, matted and framed let me know! The cost of a bird painting with a mat is $125, with a mat and white frame, it is $140.
