Hidden, mixed media journal cover, 5×7 inches

This little bird was hiding in the bushes last November when I was in Las Vegas. I believe I was at the Mirage passing the time, walking around. I couldn’t stand being inside the casino anymore and really I’m not much of a gambler. Well, I am when I’m winning. Mostly I wanted to be outside not in a dark, smoky, sensory- overloaded room.
There were a lot of people outside too waiting for some kind of specatular thing to happen. I can’t remember if it was a fountain show or what. Me? Well, I was peering into the bushes and taking pictures of the little birds that no one else seemed to notice.
This cover has been bound into a blank 5×7 journal. I attached ribbon, threads, wire and even a twig. Much like a bird, making its nest I gathered bits of this and that and added it to the cover. This journal can be purchased at amanobooks.
