Happy to share that this painting plus four others are currently at Manor Mill in their “$500 and Under Holiday Exhibit”. The opening reception is this Saturday, December 7th, 12-3 pm and in this show you can buy and take the work with you instead of waiting until the show is over. Perfect for this gift giving season.
Last month I was reading Sue Monk Kidd’s The Book of Longings and there was a character that had a particularly hard life in her younger years and whenever life would be particularly hard she would advise her niece “Let life be life” because life was going to be hard no matter what and to not let it pull her into despair. Or was it that life is going to be life and we can’t control it. hmmm. Either way, I liked the way she said it throughout the book and decided to title this painting that.
The image of the bird in this piece comes from a photo I took when I was in Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania, in the meadow that was teeming with life at that time. I couldn’t help but wonder what dramas were occuring among the bigs and critters among the tall grasses and wildflowers.
If you are local, hope to see you at Manor Mill on Saturday. I’m bringing dip and crackers!
