Uncertain Horizons

Working on the Urban Dialogue collaboration with Angie McMonigal reignited my love of working with my photographs as well as working small. I have a few small panels in the works and this is the last one I completed. This one and the ones that are in progress all have these big space horizons. Thinking a lot about the unknown journey ahead. What will fill those spaces ahead of me?
In the meantime, I am really excited to share that this panel plus the three panels that I have created in collaboration with Angie will be included in a show called “MORSELS: A SMALL WORKS & SMALL SERIES SHOW” at Township. Opening October 13, with the show running through mid-December.
Tracy Kostenbader curated this show and is a force behind many of the art events that happen in Logan Square. She does so much that I actually get confused by all that she does! In one word, she is awesome. But here is a link to AnySquared Projects that I think puts all that she organizes in one place. At the end of all her emails there is a line that I just love:
paintings included in the Morsels show
all measure 7×5 inches, encaustic mixed media
1. Don’t Disappear (collaboration with Angie)
2. Hidden Selves
3.Of Rust and Feathers (collaboration with Angie)
4. The el tracks (collaboration with Angie)
5. Uncertain Horizons
This is the other panel that I created for the Morsels show. I would like to return this composition in the future, but in a much larger size. I remember the looseness I felt when I was painting the background and would really like to revisit that again.
