I asked my 8 year old daughter for title suggestions for this painting and she said, “Green and green and green”. Made me laugh.

Unfortunately I have always been of the temperament where I often think that the grass is greener on the other side…even though I know it’s all a state of mind. I guess the upside is that I always have this idea of possibility. The downside is that I’m never quite satisfied. Either way, the title of this made me smile because it’s a joke at my expense. And if you can’t laugh at your own flaws, well, it just makes things more tedious.

I really enjoyed working on this painting. Laying down the paint with my palette knife. I find mixing the right greens difficult, so this painting was a good way to focus on just that.

…Verde que te quiero verde.
Bajo la luna gitana,
las cosas le están mirando
y ella no puede mirarlas….

-Federico García Lorca
